30 Weeks - 7 months

September 1, 2013

8-30-2013 - Still very wobbly, but seems to be more interested in standing than crawling...

8-31-2013 - Visiting the Henkels.

Owen is currently not willing to share his toys with Jack, who just learned to crawl.  It was a pretty big deal that he was trying to share his train with Jase.  The moment was fleeting, but cute while it lasted.

9-1-2013 - Holy crap it's September.

We've been parents for 7 months.  Still doesn't seem possible.

Jase has been eating solids for just over a month now.  Breakfast is still cereal with fruit and dinner is vegetables.  We've added sweet potatoes and chicken to the list of foods he's been introduced to.  The chicken smells more like something out of a diaper than food, but he seems to love it mixed with any vegetable.  Still going strong on nursing!  He rarely has a bottle on the weekends, but the 3-4, 6 oz bottles at daycare seem to be working well for him.

Will be starting ground beef (yes Amy I blended up ground beef too) this coming Friday and blueberries over the weekend.  Aunt Amy is allergic to blueberries, so I want to wait and give them to him when he's going to be home for a day or 2 so we can keep an eye on him.

Since cutting down a bottle at daycare, he's started taking a nap just before I pick him up which has actually gotten him through the evening without a nap quite a few nights this week.  I plan on talking to Kyra about sending food starting next week for "lunch."  These are the milestones, I have a hard time with.  How do you really know when they're ready for that?  Tried a sippy cup a few times, but it's more of a toy right now than anything.  He likes to chew on the nipple so I guess he's on the right track.

That pesky tooth is still working it's way up, but is definitely visible now (can actually see it in a couple pics from last week) and the one next to it has been giving him a pretty hard time this past week.  Kyra says you'd never know he was teething, but he's developed a whine when we're home and has upped his drool output so I know it's bothering him.  Broke down and got some of the Hyland Teething tablets and those seem to help.  Even if it's just easing my mind, we'll stick with them.

He's still a chatterbox and we have daily "screaming" matches which might be my favorite part of the day.  He's already quite good at mimicking us.  I'm sure that will prove for some interesting toddler conversations.

We've learned Jase is not so much a fan of the blender.  I've been using it a lot for making baby food and no matter if he's paying attention to what I'm doing or not, he about jumps out of his skin when I start it up.  It's not funny, but yet it so is lol

I say the same thing every month, but every month it's true...he's such a good baby.  I feel like we have a pretty regular routine at this point.  He's still an eat, play, sleep, repeat kind of kid so naps are frequent and not always the same length, but we're pretty flexible so far.  We can take him anywhere right now and he just goes with the flow.  His looks are changing daily.  A lot of people have said they are starting to see a lot of my dad in him and I have to agree.  9 days out of 10 though, he's still a little mini Kiel...maybe he'll grow out of it ;-)

9-2-2013 - We didn't have anywhere to be or anything in particular to do on Labor Day and I was very thankful for that.

He's definitely not a stationary baby anymore...

mmmmm chicken and peas!

Just hanging out in the back of daddy's truck killing mom with my cuteness

9-3-2013 - Bevin & Aden started school at Noah's Ark today!  We were all pretty concerned about how the first day would go, and while there were tears, it went much better than expected!  This picture completely melts my heart.

It seems like they've grown up so much faster since Jase was born.  Honestly feels like they just came home from the hospital yesterday.

Hope everyone enjoyed their holiday weekend!  I know we sure did!
