20 Weeks

Couple things I forgot to mention last week...

This kid is getting teeth :-/  I knew all the slobbering and putting everything in his mouth were signs, but two white spots appeared on his bottom gums and he's had a couple low grade fevers indicating we're in for it.  Apparently, Kiel & I both cut multiple teeth at a time so I'm waiting for him to wake up one morning with a full set.  Once those suckers pop through, you can bet we'll be on the path to formula!

I also bumped him up to 6 oz bottles last week and while it seemed to help him nap better and eat less at daycare the first day, he was back to his normal cat naps and 4 bottles by Wednesday.  Growing boys need lots of milk!  I just used the last of the April breast milk supply for today's bottles and am still able to freeze 3-4 6oz bottles a day so we're still ahead of the game for now.

And just for documentation purposes, I weighed myself on 6/19 (4 months 18 days old) and I only have 1.5 lbs to lose to get back to pre-baby weight.  100% of that has been from breastfeeding (we walk when we can, but it's pretty sporadic).  It's not only free and good for baby, it's a life changer for mommy too!  I'm definitely shaped differently now so low rise jeans aren't really my friend anymore and the shirts that were a little too short before baby have officially been added to the donate pile, but for the most part all my pre-baby clothes are back in rotation.  I now have that "mommy pooch" and my thighs could use some serious toneage, but hopefully someday I'll find the motivation to get into the gym and take care of those things.  Probably won't be busting out the string bikinis this summer, but I'm ok with that :)

Anyways....onto week 20.  I might have to boycott blinking for the next 18 years...time is FLYING!

Kiel's dad found this pic of Kiel (7 mo) & Shilo (3 yrs).  I don't have many pics of him when he was a baby so I was pretty pumped.  Can DEFINITELY see the resemblance :)  Can't wait to get a pic of Jase at 7 mo to compare!

Amy & Matt had a Brummel wedding so Jase & I babysat Henry & the twins.  Kiel had plans so I was on my own.  We started off with a movie so I could get Jase fed and waste some time before dinner.  The 5 of us ventured to DQ for dinner & ice cream.  This included 3 trips to the bathroom, 1 spilt milk, and 3 happy kids :)

Went to my house to feed Jase again and give baths before meeting up with Grandma Pam for a carriage ride...Jases first.

Yep...in our jammies :)

Aden & Bevin turned 4!!  Hard to believe!

Some people think about having twins and start hyperventilating.  I think of having twins and while it's not easy by any means...I think of these 2 and realize what a blessing it would be.  Two years in a row now, Aden has reached for Bevin when we start singing Happy Birthday and he gets nervous.  What an awesome bond they have...when they're 13 and can't stand each other, we'll have to show them this...

After the party, we took Jase swimming for the first time.  He didn't really have much of a reaction, but he didn't cry so I'd say it was a success!

Amy pulled out Henry's stats from when he was 4 months old and it looks like Jase is going to give Henry a run for his money someday.  Jase weighed an entire lb more and was 1.5 inches longer then Henry at their 4 month well checks.  Henry is not a small kid.  I have this picture in my head of Jase in pants that are too short for his legs & a shirt that's too short for his arms and busting out of his tennis shoes lol  It also gave me hope that teeth are a little further off then we think.  Henry's baby book said he started showing signs like Jase at 4 months, but didn't cut his first tooth until he was 7 months old...one can dream!

Still a big fan of peek-a-boo :)

6-25-2013 - These just make me laugh...

6-27-2013 - It's supposed to really cool off this weekend so we took advantage of the warm evening and went swimming again.  Cutest shark ever!

A new thing this week is "screaming."  Not an upset scream, more of an "Do you hear that mom?  Do you hear that noise I can make?"  I need to get it on video.  It started when he would get really excited about something like when I would pick him up from daycare or when Kiel would come home from work, but now he will just be laying there and start doing it.  Pretty proud of himself.

The swaddle blanket seems to be on the way out the last couple of nights so tonight we took the plunge and gave bedtime a shot without it.  He's been in there since 8:30 (now 10pm) and we haven't heard much out of him.  I do not expect this to be smooth, but figured it's never going to be easy so why not start now...fingers crossed!

Trying to randomly make notes in the blog throughout the week so I don't leave things out and then an hour after I do a post think...oh dang, I forgot to mention _____.  This means posts will probably have a little more content.  Since going back to work I've found myself already slacking on the baby book...need to get better about that!
